WaxPoetry DIY Candle Making Kit Instructions
Hi friend - thanks for purchasing WaxPoetry DIY Candle Making Kit! If you're reading this, you're probably a candle lover just like we are. You're in good company. Let's make a candle!
First, let's check to be sure you have all of the supplies you need. Here's what's included in your kit:
Your kit should include:
- 1 wooden wick + wick holder
- wick sticker
- stir stick
- packet of soy wax
- candle vessel
- fragrance oil
- dried flowers
Here's what you'll need that's not included:
- a glass or ceramic microwave safe bowl or container (make sure it holds 16 oz+)
- a microwave
- scissors or nail clippers
Let's get started!
Instructions:
- Place all of the materials from your kit on a sturdy table or counter
- Remove the paper from each side of your wick sticker (it's a 2 sided sticker)
- Place the wick sticker on the bottom of the metal piece of the wick holder (this will allow the wick & wick holder to stick to the vessel)
- Secure the wick & wick holder inside of your candle vessel, ensuring it's centered
- Pour the entire packet of soy wax into your glass/ceramic container
- Place the container of wax in the microwave for 30 seconds (cover with a paper town or microwave cover)
- After 30 seconds, check to see if the wax is fully melted - if it's not, microwave for another 30 seconds
- Once the wax is fully melted - carefully remove the container from the microwave with a pot holder or oven mitt (container will be hot)
- Pour the melted wax into your candle vessel - be careful, the wax will be hot
- Pour the entire bottle of fragrance oil into the candle vessel
- Use your stir stick to blend the wax & fragrance oil in the candle vessel for 2 minutes
- Once blended, sprinkle the dried flowers into the candle vessel if desired
- Allow candle to cool for 1-1.5 hours until fully solid
- Once solid, use your scissors or trimmer to trim the wooden wick to 1/4 inches
Your candle is ready!! Allow your candle to set for a minimum of 24 hours before burning.
